We're especially pleased to see that Microgaming has decided to make sure the entire visual presentation fits with the ‘secret agent' theme. There are no playing car symbols anywhere on these reels! Instead, we have a wrist watch, Jane's laptop computer, her bag of essential items including her gun and passport, and her sports car. It would seem that anybody holding a special agent ranking in the British secret service is entitled to drive a luxury vehicle, and Bond himself would be happy to be pictures behind the reel of this roadster.

A good secret agent has to be a master of disguise, able to blend into any environment without attracting suspicion. Based on the more valuable symbols in this slot, it would seem that Jane understands that. All of the top symbols here are Jane in different guides, which involve a new hair color and outfit each time.

If you see Jane appear without wearing any disguise at all you’ll be pleased, because that’s the slot’s wild. It can replace any of the base game symbols to create a winning combination for you, with one exception. That’s a scatter symbol which takes the form of the slot’s logo, and is also the key to triggering the one bonus feature with Jane has on offer for us.

Bonus Features

Given that this is such a modern looking and sounding Mobile Slots game, we're slightly surprised that Microgaming hasn't given us more than one bonus game or feature to play with. We can only assume that they didn't want to play around too much with what made the original Jane Blonde slot so successful, and so they've opted for cosmetic changes more than functional alterations.

The bonus is Respins (as opposed to Free Spins), and they tie in nicely with the way that wilds in the slot function. It's also quite an easy feature to trigger. Whereas in the vast majority of online slots you're probably used to having to land three or more scatter symbols to kick things off in terms of features, Agent Jane Blonde does it with only two. Whenever two scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels, they'll immediately transform into wilds, and stick in place for the next spin. If that next spin yields one or more wild symbols, they also stick, and you get to spin again. The ultimate objective is to fill every space on the reels with wild symbols, but even if you're unable to do that you'll be given a prize based on how many wilds and winning lines are on screen when the feature ends. The end will come if you spin but don't find a new wild.

While we’d have liked more bonus features - and we’re sure Microgaming could have come up with some original ones, given the elaborate theme - what we have here works well. Being able to trigger a generous bonus feature with two scatter symbols makes for a nice change to the norm. The slot leans a little close to being more style than substance, but so long as you’re aware that you’re not going to be offered sophisticated bonus features when you start playing, you should have a good time with it.
